Talents United is an innovative start-up - hybrid in nature - with a focus on social impact with a self-sustaining business model. Our mission is to strengthen the talents of highly educated refugees & migrants to accelerate their integration in the workforce.

In our current society we see a paradox in terms of diversity. Nowadays we are faced with the challenges of diversity with refugee streams & integration difficulties, resulting in a lot of talent remaining unrecognised & untapped. On the other hand, corporate life strives for diversity & suffers a scarcity in the job market for some key functions.

17/04/2016 - Talents United wins the Start-it@kbc award during Startup weekend on Education & innovation in Leuven. For the next year we are part of this incubator, promoting & supporting early stage, innovative entrepreneurship in Belgium. Through the founding partners (Accenture, Cronos, Flanders DC, iMinds, KBC, Mobile Vikings & local academic partners) we can count on lots of expertise, a huge network, office space, mentorship & their custom-made Start-up Academy.

We are working hard to further validate our value proposition with companies, social partners and the refugee & migrant community.

Working in an international business & education environment, Hannelore Waterschoot, is a strong believer in the power of talent & diversity. She pitched the Talents United idea on the Startup weekend on Education Innovation, a 54 hours hackathon where participants pitch ideas, form teams around the winning pitches, build products and launch education or edtech ventures.

The newly formed team proved to be a great match, being very diverse in nationalities (Spain, Iran, Belgium) & complementary backgrounds in education, business development, marketing, engineering & IT. Unbelievable how a high-performance team can be built so fast with fun & openness as central drivers. Deep thanks to Ehsan Karimi Rad , Marc Sala Casals , Corine Versteylen, Lisa Verhelst & Soroush Karimi Rad for a great kick-off!
